Little Kookas Sustainability
At Little Kookas, we are committed to becoming as sustainable as possible. We are guided by the Little Green Steps program to create our own sustainable ideas and resources.
Sustainability is embedded across the service from management, staff, to children and families. Management has installed solar panels to lessen electricity consumption. Staff are educating and guiding the children to become sustainable through a variety of activities. The children are actively involved in recycling, taking pride and care of the environment through activities such as gardening and caring for the centre animals, collecting scraps for the worm farm and compost bin. The worm juice and compost are then used to fertilise the gardens. Herbs are grown and used in the meals prepared on site.
