For Parents…
At Little Kookas Kingsthorpe, we seek to develop a partnership style relationship with parents, which encourages open sharing of information, ideas, suggestions and solutions for the child.
Formal and informal communication becomes a most important factor in the development of the partnership. We therefore encourage parents to engage in friendly discussions with their child’s Room Leader in particular.
For the Children…
At Little Kookas our philosophy is “Laughing and Learning” and we implement it into every day. We provide “unhurried time” so your child can play, explore and learn in a safe environment.
We value each child’s unique learning style and encourage them to play and learn in their own ways, celebrating their individual strengths and interests. We support your child throughout their day from working together to care for the animals, learning about nutritional eating, enjoying creative play and developing genuine relationships with other children and settling contentedly at the service.
As Educators…
Our educators are all qualified, caring and enthusiastic and we value the unique journey each child will take while with us and adjust our practice to suit each journey. We work collaboratively with each other in the process of questioning, planning, implementing, reflecting and documenting each child’s journey. As a play-based learning centre, we provide experiences for both spontaneous and planned learning, implementing learning opportunities into all aspects of the day.
Family & Community…
The team at Little Kookas believe in forming collaborative partnerships based on trust and mutual respect that support each child’s learning and development. We respect the parent’s rights and opinions in providing quality care for their child. Little Kookas celebrates the uniqueness of each family and their cultures and beliefs. We practice and promote culturally inclusive ways of being, including our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities

Little Kookas is a welcoming and supportive environment for children & families where we provide opportunities for children to explore, experiment and respond without pre-prescribed outcomes. We value open-ended learning freedom through the environment, enabling children to explore and discover, to use their imaginations, build relationships and most importantly have fun!
Our holistic learning approach allows children to practice, refine, experiment with, master new skills & explore new ways of being without interruption.
Management…
Management at Little Kookas aim to be available and responsive to the needs and questions of families in relation to our service administration in a professional manner. We will provide families with a voice in our service delivery through our centre’s Story Park and closed Facebook page, so you can be kept in the loop at all times. In order to provide cohesive and effective management, our management team will liaise with all relevant stakeholders.
